In front of you is a giant steel building dedicated to the ship that sailed from that location. The ship of dreams, known as the Titanic, was built in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the first largest ship built in 1912. We know its name as Titanic, but its full name is RMS Titanic, with RMS meaning Royal Mail Ship, as it carried nearly 3,500 bags of mail. Famous for hitting an iceberg that caused many new safety precautions to be installed for all the following cruise ships so there won't be another titanic disaster. This working ship had 908 crew members who helped keep it moving for passengers and its journey to America. Besides the crew members, the Titanic had over 15,000 shipbuilders hired by Harland & Wolff to build the massive vessel and its sister ships. You can learn more about the making of the ships through an interactive ride showing the work they would complete in several years. After completing the ride, you can continue to follow the line on the ground as it leads you to more information on the ship’s creation to look out onto the shipyard that once held the Titanic. Walking through the building, you cannot see windows besides a few to immerse you. This makes you feel like you are living during their time and seeing the glory and devastating details. When you walk into the area, that shows you the different suites. You can only think of how different being in first class was to all other cabins and how there are more first-class survivors out of all the passengers. Towards the end, you can see the recordings of the last words of people that have perished and the survivors. Walking to another room, you hear the last words and signals sent to other ships for help, with stories of survivors and a list of those that perished that night. One interesting fact I found was that the ship had 12 dogs onboard, but only three were among those saved. Coming to the Titanic museum, you can learn of a devastating time that ends up helping future generations of cruise ships. Does the ship of dreams feel like a dream to you?
